Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) systems
Electrophoresis Systems Mutation Detection Systems
DGGE is a powerful genetic analysis technique that can be used for detecting single base changes and polymorphisms in genomic, cloned, and PCR amplified DNA. DGGE is ideal for screening samples for genetic mutations, and it can also be used for determining DNA fragment melting point.

  • Design of the gel cassettes allows both sides of the glass plates to be continuously exposed to the circulating temperature controlled buffer, so minimising temperature fluctuation within the gel/sample matrix and improving gel resolution
  • Hinged safety cover with an electrical interlock protects against accidental contact with charged buffer, aids temperature control and limits evaporation
  • Buffer tank dimensions allow efficient use of bench space
  • No need for an external peristaltic pump for buffer recycling

The DGGEK-2401 has a medium-sized buffer tank but with two dual gel cassettes, for a capacity of four gels per run.

Note: Power supply is not included.

Delivery information: The two place DGGE System (DGGEK-2001, Cat. No. 730 0035) includes: 1 reinforced buffer tank/lower reservoir with platinum electrodes and attached anode power lead, 2 plexiglass gel cassettes/upper reservoir with platinum electrodes and attached cathode power leads, safety cover with electrical interlock, buffer tank drain valve, heater/stirrer/buffer cycler, 4 combs (two 0.75 mm 1 well combs, two 0.75 mm 16 well rectangular combs), 4 sets of 0.75 mm spacers (two with injection ports for perpendicular gel casting), 2 sets of glass plates (W×H) 177×220 mm, 4×0.75 mm Gel Wrap® gaskets, 30 white spring clamps, gradient maker (20 ml per side) and a thermometer.
