Human CD4+ Helper T cells from cord blood
CD4+ Helper T cells are isolated from mononuclear cells by positive selection using immunomagnetic cell separation procedures.

  • Purity >90% by flow cytometry
  • Test negative for HIV, HTLVI/II, HCV, HBV, WNV, syphilis, CMV, NAT, NAT WNV and Chagas
  • Cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 media

Originating in the bone marrow and maturing in the Thymus, T cells become CD4+ T Cells after gaining an affinity for the MHC II class receptor. Upon maturation, this cell type spreads throughout the body and lymph nodes in its naïve form, awaiting activation by the antigen each T cell receptor is pre-programmed to respond to. CD4+ Helper T Cells oversee the action of the human immune system; they are involved in activating and directing other immune cells. CD4+ Helper T Cells are crucial in determining B cell antibody class switching, the activation and growth of cytotoxic T cells, and maximising bactericidal activity of phagocytes (i.e. macrophages).

Storage: Either prepare cells for long term storage in liquid nitrogen vapour phase or thaw for use. Storage in liquid phase nitrogen is NOT recommended. Short term storage of cells (less than 2 weeks) at –80 °C is acceptable, but should be minimised to ensure maximum stability. Once thawed, samples must be used immediately.

Caution: Intended for research use only and not for direct therapeutic or diagnostic use in human or animals, or for further manufacturing of therapeutic products or devices.
