The PXi range of gel documentation systems is especially aimed at chemiluminescence and multi-spectral imaging users (multiplex) where high sensitivity is required. Its compact design makes it attractive for small format gel or blot users. All systems use GeneSys application-led image capture software, and come complete with unlimited copies of GeneTools analysis software. Applications for the PXi range include imaging of fluorescent gels, chemiluminescent Western blots, multiplexed blots, UV excited gels, blue light excited gels, bioluminescence, GFPs, stain-free and visible stained blots and gels.

All models incorporate 16 bit, high quantum efficiency, low read out noise CCD cameras. All cameras have quantum efficiency levels of 73% at 425 nm resulting in faster image capture and increased image sensitivity. Using the GeneSys image capture software, detection of even faint bands or spots on gels and blots can be achieved. The auto-expose functions of PXi ensure simple and automatic image capture for any sample type and are especially useful for working with the capture of chemiluminescent Western blots.
A choice of two models are available. The PXi is ready to use with any external PC, with two USB ports (camera and darkroom). The PXi Touch has a built-in processor and high resolution touch screen monitor. PXi Touch models have two USB ports on the rear suitable for mouse, keyboard or printer connection, if required. They have an additional side mounted USB port which can be used for data download onto memory sticks or hard drives and a rear mounted network port.
Delivery information: All systems include 7-position motor driven filter wheel with UV filter and LED gantry rack, EPI white light LED and midrange (302 nm) UV lighting, GeneSys software and unlimited copies of GeneTools. Additional lighting and filters can be ordered separately. Systems are available with or without touch screen monitor and built-in processor. A UV transilluminator is required (not supplied).
